Use of Municipal Parks and Open Space Park is open sunrise to sunset, except for when the athletic field lights are scheduled through the Parks & Recreation Department. Platform Tennis Courts are open until 11pm. Motorized vehicles are restricted to roadways and parking lots only. Parking is permitted only in designated areas. All dogs must be leashed and are to be curbed. All litter & recyclables shall be placed in the proper marked receptacles. The disposal of waste in any park refuse container is prohibited except for waste generated by the use of park facilities. Hitting of golf balls is prohibited. Click here to review Section 10-1, "Municipal Parks, Playgrounds & Pool", of the Revised General Ordinances of the Township of Bernards.  Smoking and vaping is not permitted in outdoor public areas in Bernards Township parks in accordance with the NJ Smoke-Free Air Act.

Commemorative Tree and Bench Program

Lost and Found

Items found in Township Parks and facilities may be turned into the Parks and Recreation Office. A log is kept of incoming found items. Anyone who has lost an item may call 908-204-3003 to see if the item has been turned in. Items will be held for a time period, and then disposed of. Clothing, shoes, backpacks, sunglasses, toys, etc- 3 month, Keys-1 year, Electronics/Cameras-1 year, Jewelry-1 year Items found at the Pool, such as clothing, towels, & toys will be left at the Pool Front Gate, and disposed of on a bi-weekly basis.

Restrooms - All facilities listed above have restrooms, except the Allen Street Gazebo. Farmstead Park, Rebel Hill Park and the War Memorial Complex have a portable toilet unit available only during the months of April through November.

Check facility availability online before you make your reservation for the Community Center, Picnic Shelters & Park Indoor Rooms.  Our online site will also provide photos, facility descriptions, capacity, fees and features. Reservations must be made in person, with check or cash payment and current proof of homeowners or renters insurance. Community Service Group Facility Use Program

Non Profit Organizations whose membership consists of at least 75% Bernards Township residents may be eligible for limited complimentary use of the Community Center or the PVP Warming Hut for meetings and for a complimentary facility reservation for an annual group picnic or fundraiser. Call 908-204-3003 for more information.

Athletic Fields

View Field Availability Online   Athletic Field Types by Location Multipurpose fields are used for "rectangle sports" – soccer, lacrosse, football, etc. Large multipurpose fields may be set up for regulation soccer, lacrosse or football. Small multipurpose fields may be set up for division 5 soccer or for practice only. Field set up varies by season. The artificial turf fields at Mountain Park are lined for soccer, football and girls and boys lacrosse. Grass fields are CLOSED for the winter, the Monday following the third Sunday in November through the Friday prior to the first Saturday in April.
