Facilities

Bernards Township Parks & Recreation Department's facilities provide something for everyone!  See below for a list of facilities and amenities.

Allen Street Gazebo - located at the corner of Allen St. and N. Finley Ave., a great spot for photos or a small outdoor meeting.  No restrooms.

Dunham Park - located on Liberty Corner Rd, includes a playground, multipurpose field, baseball field, paved pathways, woodchipped trails, 9/11 Memorial, sand volleyball court, roller hockey rink, bocce court, disc golf, picnic shelter and indoor pavilion available for rental and restrooms.  

Farmstead Park - located on King George Rd, includes a multipurpose field and portable restroom (seasonal).

Mountain Park - located at the intersection of Mountain Rd. and Martinsville Rd., includes 4 multipurpose fields, two of which are lighted artificial turf lined for football, soccer and lacrosse, two baseball fields, one lighted, one lighted softball field, one lighted youth baseball field, two restrooms and concession buildings, paved pathways and woodchipped trails.  

Pleasant Valley Park - located on Valley Rd, includes Pleasant Valley Pool (membership required), playground, four multipurpose fields, one softball field, one baseball field, two youth baseball fields, six tennis courts, six pickleball courts, four lighted platform tennis courts, basketball court, sand volleyball court, pond for fishing, amphitheater (not for rental), paved pathways, woodchipped trails, picnic shelters and indoor rooms available for rental and restrooms.  

Rebel Hill Park - located on Fairview Dr. South, includes a playground, two tennis/pickleball courts, a softball field/multipurpose field and a portable restroom (seasonal).

Southard Park - located on N. Maple Ave., includes a playground, basketball court, shuffleboard court, bocce court, sand volleyball court, ice skating area (in winter), pond for fishing, softball/multipurpose field, picnic shelter available for rental and a restroom.  

War Memorial Athletic Complex - located on S. Maple Ave., includes a baseball field, softball field, multipurpose field, access to the Paws Park Dog Run (residents only) and a portable restroom.

Additional tennis/pickleball courts are also located on West Oak Street (Oak Street School) and on Liberty Corner Road (LC Fire Co.).  No restrooms.

Reservation Information

Picnic Shelters & Indoor Rooms 

You can view facility availability ONLINE before you visit our office to make a reservation for the Community Center, Picnic Shelters & Park Indoor Rooms.  Our online site will also provide photos, facility descriptions, capacity, fees and features. Picnic shelters are available for rental on dates from April 1st through October 31st.  Indoor facilities may be rented year round.  Reservations must be made in person, with check or cash payment and current proof of homeowners or renters insurance. Click here for rental facility information including descriptions, sizes and features and various reminders.

Athletic Fields & Courts

All use associated with league play or with a sport official present requires a reservation by paid permit.  Grass fields are open for play from April 1st through the third Sunday in November.  The artificial turf fields at Mountain Park are open year round.  Click here for more information on how to make an athletic field or court reservation

Tennis, Paddle & Pickleball Courts and the Roller Rink

Residents with an online account may reserve court or rink time online for recreational play.  Reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance up to 3 hours prior to the desired time, in one hour time blocks with a limit of 2 hours per day and 4 hours per 7-day span.  All use associated with league play requires a reservation by paid permit.  Click here for more information about reservations for league home matches.

The following courts are designated as walk-on and not available for online reservation: Liberty Corner Court #1, Rebel Hill Court #1, Oak Street Court #1, Pleasant Valley Park Tennis Court #1, Pleasant Valley Paddle Tennis Court #4. Use of these courts are first come, first serve and players should vacate the courts after one hour if others are waiting.  WINTER USE - Nets are removed and court availability is reduced from mid-December through early March.

Pleasant Valley Pickleball Court Schedule:

  • Open play for residents of all skill levels will be held daily on Courts #1, #2, #3 & #4 from 9am - 12pm and 4pm - sunset.
  • Residents are able to reserve Courts #5 & #6 and Courts #2, #3 & #4 when not designated for open play.
  • Court #1 is designated as walk-on and not available for online reservation. Use of this court is per the open play schedule above and at all other times considered first come, first serve and players should vacate the courts after 30 minutes if others are waiting.

Equipment Kits

Community Service Group Facility Use Program

Non Profit Organizations whose membership consists of at least 75% Bernards Township residents may be eligible for limited complimentary use of the Community Center or the PVP Warming Hut for meetings and for a complimentary facility reservation for an annual group picnic or fundraiser. Commemorative Tree and Bench Program

Purchase a commemorative tree or bench, to be placed in one of our parks, to honor the memory of a relative, friend or member of your organization, acknowledge a milestone or special occasion, or to recognize a volunteer or employee. Commemorative Tree & Bench Order Form

Lost and Found

Items found in Township Parks and facilities may be turned into the Parks and Recreation Office. A log is kept of incoming found items. Anyone who has lost an item may call 908-204-3003 to see if the item has been turned in. Items will be held for a time period, and then disposed of. Clothing, shoes, backpacks, sunglasses, toys, etc.- 3 month, Keys-1 year, Electronics/Cameras-1 year, Jewelry-1 year Items found at the Pool, such as clothing, towels, & toys will be left at the Pool Front Gate, and disposed of on a bi-weekly basis.
