The General Election is November 3rd, 2020

 

Every Active Registered Voter Will Receive a Vote by Mail Ballot.  

Ballots will be mailed out to every active registered voter in Somerset County from the Clerk’s Office by October 5. Because all active voters will be mailed a ballot, there is no need to request a ballot.

VOTING ON ELECTION DAY

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Vote by Mail Ballots Can Be Submitted in 3 Different Ways

  • Ballots can be submitted by mailing them to the address on the preprinted envelope with a postmark before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
  • Ballots can be submitted by inserting them in one of the Secure Ballot Drop-Off Boxes throughout Somerset County.
  • Voters can go to a polling location from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Voters can only bring their own personalized vote-by-mail ballot to a polling place.  The voter will be asked to confirm their address and sign a certification.  If a voter does not have their vote-by-mail ballot they can cast a paper provisional ballot.

IMPORTANT DATES DURING THE ELECTION

Monday, October 5 – Ballots for active voters will be mailed out by this date. Ballots can be submitted as soon as they are received.

Tuesday, October 13 – This is the last day to register to vote and be able to cast a ballot in the 2020 General Election.

Friday, October 23 – This is the last day to request a replacement ballot through the mail. Ballots can still be requested in person at the County Clerk’s office through 8 p.m. on November 3, 2020.

Tuesday, November 3 - Election Day.
