Program Information

This program consists of four Sunday afternoon trips on January 5, 12, 26 and February 2, 2025.  Participants will arrive at Pleasant Valley Park no later than 12:45pm to depart for Shawnee Mountain Ski Area and return at approximately 8:30pm.  Transportation is on a Motor Coach Bus with storage underneath.  In case of inclement weather and/or conditions, the designated make-up dates are February 9 and February 23, 2025.

A minimum of 40 participants is required.  The maximum number of participants will be dependent on the number of committed adult volunteers, not to exceed 150 participants maximum.

Participant Registration Information

Important Program Details:

  • Helmets are required.
  • Participants must bring their own ski and/or board equipment on each trip. There are no rentals available at the mountain.
  • No outside food may be brought to the mountain. Participants may bring money to purchase food or pre-pay for a meal plan.
  • I understand that if my child is a first time skier/snowboarder, I must purchase a lesson package in addition to my lift tickets.
  • The Parks & Recreation registration fee covers transportation and the administration of the program. Instructions will follow, at a later date, to purchase lift tickets and any additional packages directly through the Shawnee Mountain online portal by the designated deadline.
  • The Parks & Recreation registration fee is non-refundable after November 10. The fees paid to Shawnee will be non-refundable once paid.
  • Parents and participants will be required to sign additional waivers and codes of conduct as part of participation in this program.

Registration for the 2025 season will re-open on November 4th at 8:30am for 6th, 7th and 8th grade residents and ends on November 10th (or earlier if sold out).

  1. Register Online with your Parks & Recreation household account with payment by credit card or register in-person with cash or check. This fee covers transportation and administration costs - $140.00 per participant.
  2. Instructions will follow, at a later date, to purchase lift tickets and any additional packages directly through the Shawnee Mountain online portal by the designated deadline.  First Timer Lessons are REQUIRED if the participant is a brand-new skier or snowboarder. This link is for participants registered with Bernards Township Parks & Rec only and not to be used for any other purpose. Please see the following options for lift ticket and lesson pricing (subject to change):
  • Lift Ticket Options
    • 4 Trip Twilight Lift Ticket - $120.00 -OR-
    • Student Club Pass - $225.00 - A limited season pass valid on school club visits, plus students can ski/ride anytime open/close midweek as well as after 3pm on weekends and midweek holidays.
  • Lesson Options
    • First Timer Ski or Snow Board Lessons - $132.00 - These lessons are NOT for participants who have skied/snowboarded prior. Group lessons are scheduled for (4) consecutive one-hour sessions. Lessons are at 3:15 pm on each trip.
    • Beginner Lessons - $145.00 - *Must complete First Timer Lesson in order to participate in Beginner Lessons* These lessons are for participants who have skied/snowboarded a few times prior but need to improve on turning and stopping as well as learn chair lift use/safety. Group lessons are scheduled for four (4) one-hour consecutive sessions.

  • Participants must bring their own equipment for each trip. Rental equipment may be obtained on your own by contacting any local ski rental shop.
