(the 11, 1 and and some of the 3 pm tours are sold out already). We added the 3 pm tour because demand is great-but you still have the 10, 12 and 2 pm and a few 3 pm tickets available to schedule yourself or your own group of 23! Each tour will be 2.5 hours short (guests always say the tour was too short). During the winter of 1778-79, George Washington and his top generals rented local houses to live and work with their particular men around them. This lessened the load on the local population and kept the people happy. Beginning at the Van Horne House-HQ of The Heritage Trail Association-we will check in and enjoy a short overview of the cantonment, then stepping into the bus and heading off to the Abraham Staats house, The Jacobus Vanderveer House, The Wallace House and the Van Veghten House! Docents at each house will conduct the tours inside. Selling out the past few years, we are happy to bring this important piece of our local history to you! This year we will be using premium coaches comfortable seats and heated buses! The tour sound system called VOX will add to our listening and gathering experiences. The VOX system is an individual receiver with earphones that allow our guests to hear every important word on the way to and inside the houses! **** Please check in 15-20 minutes ahead of your scheduled tour to sign out your VOX system.**** Parking in our lot for handicapped only please.
